FOR ALL STAKEHOLDERS
Just this past December, 2020, Materia has completed the development of conceptual designs of commercially viable technologies that will extract rare earth elements (REEs) and other critical minerals from U.S. Coal and coal by-product sources. This work completed, was phase one of a two phase plan, completed in partnership with the US Department of Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). With phase one completed, Materia expects to be able to participate in an additional funding opportunity for a feasibility study of its conceptual work.
The project, based out of Clearfield county in PA, was led by Materia USA in partnership with Penn State and other local stakeholders.
